CLOSED.....Z Palette {Giveaway}

It's that time of year and I have the best gift to give you gals!!!
I like to try new things and see how well they work for me, then share with you gals. I have a Z Palette myself and I use it when I go to do makeup. I have TONS of eyeshadows and blush and desperately need something to help me condense all my goodies. I have 2 MAC palettes and want to try the UNII Cosmetics palette now.

For this blog entry we are going to be talking about experiences with the Z Palette.
I have been researching this product all over the internet as well as using it myself.

My experience has been good thus far. I like that I can see my colors through the top where with others I have to open it and hope the color I want inside is the one I picked up.
I love the patterns. I have the leopard printed one.
In my palette I have lots of different pans. MAC, Mary Kay, eye shadows, and blushes. I am still working on de-potting my other cosmetics.
I have been able to fit a lot of pans into the palette. I must have at least 20 in one Z Palette.

Somethings I read about that people didn't like were that is is made of cardboard. Don't want to get it wet. It's not the cardboard you are thinking exactly though. Not the kind that's cheap from a box you ship stuff in.
I have seen girls complaining about the pans not staying put. This problem I had only with my MAC eyeshadows that I de-potted. I fixed that problem easy as pie. I went to Wal-Mart and bought the magnetic sheets for $0.97. Just cut it into a square and remove the sheet and stick it to the back. Now they stay just fine.

My next venture is to go to IKEA and get a holder for all the Z Palettes that I will have soon. =) This product (click on the link) you can paint and decorate however you want and it will hold your Z Palettes.
The link above is for a DVD rack and this one HERE is for a CD rack. Both will fit Z Palettes.

Follow instructions below to win your own set of Z Palettes. The prize is ONE large leopard and ONE small zebra palette. You get BOTH!

CLOSED...{GIVEAWAY} Go Pink!!! Be aware of your boobs and cancer!!!

So this month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's not something I personally have had to deal with personally. I think we tend to support causes that we are close to or have meaning to us. This was a challenge I gave myself to get more involved even if it's for just a month.
Domestic Violence is something I have been working on to help people be aware of it so I gave myself a challenge to learn something new since this month is Awareness Month for both of these causes.

I challenge you to find out more about breast cancer. I even did something simple as looking at images of breast cancer. It made it more real to me. To see the pain and problem that breast cancer can cause women.

A dollar from everyone would be such a huge help so I encourage you to donate as well.
La Purse has given me the opportunity to encourage and entice you to be more aware of breast cancer and help others to be aware of it to by giving away not one scarf, but TWO to my followers and fans!

There will be actually a THIRD scarf to win, but only for those who are attending the Live Life Well Expo

From my fan page on Facebook you can enter the giveaways.  We will do TWO giveaways from here and there.
I will list the contest/giveaway rules underneath each scarf and that's the scarf you will enter to win. You of course can enter to win both!!
The Two-Toned Reversible scarf will be chosen by how many posts/tags are on our fan page with your name in it.
The ruffle scarf contest winner will be picked by random.org.

The beautiful two toned scarf contest is as follows:
Head over to j & a {makeup artistry} fan page (formally Beauty By Janea) and tell me who sent you to my page. So if you are a fan of ours please encourage your friends to come and post that "____your name here (tagging helps)____ helped save my tatas!"
The more your name is posted the better chance you have to win.

This contest is going hand in hand with the first contest. You are helping your friends save their tatas by entering this next contest.
For this contest I want you to research Breast Cancer and share something you have found out about it that you didn't know before, or an experience you have had with breast cancer. Share something related to breast cancer to help educate someone else to enter to win.
Want extra chances to win? Here's how!
Reply in the comment box SEPARATELY to get more entries to win.

I am so excited to announce that I am going to be a product specialist for Too Faced here in Fort Myers, Florida and once there are more stores open in Naples, I will go there too. I have 3 stores I go to. Two Ulta's and one Sephora.
I used to work for Ulta before and during my pregnancy with my youngest Jemma. I loved working there and the girls are awesome! I am very excited to see them more again now.
When I worked at Ulta I loved the Too Faced brand. I am so thrilled I was referred and recommended to be the rep for this area for them.
I wanted to share one of the most popular makeup items on the market right now. This is called the Natural Eye kit. It has 3 sets of shadows for 3 different natural eye looks.
Inside each kit is a set of cards to show you how to make the look work for you. You can't go wrong! It's an awesome kit that you can take with you wherever you go. Don't forget you can always add more colors to these looks. It's a great place to start if you are not a big eyeshadow girl like myself.
Stop by and see me at Ulta in Coconut Point or Bell Tower. I also will be at the Sephora too in Coconut Point. Feel free to message me to find out which store I will be at. Can't wait to see you! I can do some makeup application for you as well!

La Purse wants us at 700 fans!!!

Ladies this is an awesome privilege for us to get the opportunity to give you a free La Purse scarf. All we have to do it get to 700 fans. We are less than 40 away. I get to pick the scarf to give you. So I want you to head over to www.lapurse.com and let me know which one I should pick.
Once we get to that 700 mark we can do a contest to giveaway the awesome scarf!!! I promise you gals will love their scarves. I love mine!!
One thing I love about La Purse besides the gorgeous scarves is that they help you with how to wear them and style them. They have so many colors to choose from as well. I know lots of brides who want to have that something special for their bridesmaids. Well this is it!! A Pashmina scarf adds that pop of color you want for your wedding and it's a perfect gift for them as well. They can wear it again and again.
For those of us in Florida it seems we don't need a scarf because of the hotness we feel down here. I can tell you that the light weight scarves are awesome and not too hot. The ones with the polka-dots are adorable and light weight too. They just bring that something extra to your outfit every time!
So ladies, let me know which scarf you would want and list it below!! We will get to 700 fans soon so get me those scarf suggestions quick. Ask your friends to put their desired scarf choice here as well.
Thanks ladies!! I can't wait to get one of you a awesome scarf. If there is enough interest, I may even give you my scarf!!
Love you all!!!

World's Future Makeup Artists

My daughters LOVE to play in my makeup. {the picture is not of my little girls} My eldest loves lipgloss and will put on several layers of it and then put on lipstick on top of that. She loves to help me apply it on myself as well. Eyeshadow is another favorite of hers. She will take any brush she can get her hands on and apply it on her cheek.
My youngest loves my brushes. Really she will just play with anything she can get her hands on right now since she is only 1.
They are too cute! I believe they will be makeup artists in the future. Hehe! I am sure I am not the only mom who has children get into their makeup and play. I remember when I was younger I would draw on my wall with my mom's lipstick. She even remembers the color and brand today. We have pictures of it and I have to say my work was magnificent! =)

I thought this would be perfect for a contest!!! I want you to start looking for pictures of either yourself when you were younger with your lovely makeup designs on or something from your kids masterpieces.
I wanted to give you a head start if you read my blog to get a chance to see what the next contest is going to be about.
I think once I start getting pictures I will pick a prize, but I will tell you it will be makeup.
When I get pics I will post them on Facebook and we will have people vote on their favorite future makeup artist!!

YouTube here we come!!!

So I have decided that I should be doing YouTube videos now. I found these videos of YOUNG girls doing makeup tutorials! How insane is that? Some of those girls have about as much MAC makeup as I do.
As a makeup artist, please don't let your children start wearing makeup so young. It's not good for their skin.
So anyway, joining the world of YouTube is going to be a whole new experience for me. I am a dork and now you all will get to see it live and in living color. Hehe!

There is soooo much out there to teach you and show you. I am having a hard time deciding what to do my first video on. Therefore, it presents me with a great opportunity to present to you a CONTEST!!! YAY!!!

So here we go...leave me a comment with what you think I should do for my first YouTube video. You have to make it good because I will be having surgery after my beauty event. (Beauty, Body, & Soul: What A Girl Wants! Event).

You will have to wait a bit for the next video for a bit. I may even use your comment for one of my videos.

The prize is a free makeover possibly in the video itself and if you aren't local I have some makeup treats to send!
Let's hear these great ideas ladies!!!

Beads, beading, beaded

My dear friend Nikki makes these gorgeous pieces of jewelry! They are awesome! Her business name is very fitting: "Beads, beading, beaded".
I got to take these pictures of her jewelry while she came to visit me one day! I feel in love with all of them. She not only makes bracelets, she creates anklets and necklaces too. Check out her Facebook Page for more info on how you can get your wrist in one of these beauties!!

Worst makeup looks ever!!!

Please share with me what you have seen! I am making this into a contest! Comment down below (click comments) and tell me all about what you have either seen with your own eyes or even what you have done to yourself that was just not cool!
I can't wait to hear your stories!!
The winner will receive a free Lash Blast mascara. I have heard so many good things about it and everyone seems to love it so I thought I should get one and give it away as a prize for someone who might already love it and want more or for someone who hasn't tried it before and wants to see if they will love it!
If you have a picture PLEASE let me know and I will add it to the blog!!! =)

Are you a fan of Joann Frazier Beauty Consultant on Facebook? If not, become one and you can also win a free facial and makeup application!!

Thanks to Deejay Manny for these lovely inspirations to get you ladies started!!

My very talented friends!!!

Lately I have been seeing all these really cool women doing these really cool things. Such talent! Many of them unable to be present at my event, yet willing to donate to the cause. With our event we are trying to support those women in our community who are victims of domestic violence and rape. As a victim myself I know how hard it is to feel good about yourself.
I know that this event won't fix what has happened, but it has the ability to help heal and make one stronger. I hope that this event will be seen as what it is: women being women and feeling good about themselves inside and out.

Got in the News Press!!!

http://www.news-press.com/article/20100712/NEWS01/7120329/1002/Frugality-finds-its-way-into-weddings

1:10 A.M. — Stephanie Porter walked into Sunday's bridal show in Fort Myers with one thing on her mind, and it didn't include buying a $6,000 Couture wedding dress.

"I'm looking to cut costs for my wedding," said Porter, who works at Fort Myers Middle Academy during the week and as a waitress at a local restaurant on the weekends. "My fiance and I are each working two jobs to save money for the wedding. It's hard."

Porter and her fiance, Joseph Jones, want to spend $10,000 for their wedding, so keeping costs down is a priority.

Porter and Jones represent an emerging trend in weddings: the budget-conscious couple. Since the recession began, more couples are spending less on their big day. As a result, the wedding industry is taking a small hit as more couples look to do it on their own and cut costs.

The Knot Real Wedding Survey reported that about one-third of brides who got married last year said the economy impacted their wedding plans. Another survey by David's Bridal found that 68 percent of brides-to-be planned to spend less on their wedding. About 30 percent of those respondents said they would spend less than $10,000 on their wedding.

Porter, 24, said she planned to get help from her family and friends at her November wedding. Porter's friend, Janea Soliven of Makeup Artistry, will do her hair and makeup.

Another friend will be the DJ while Porter's grandfather will snap pictures.

"You can save a lot of money by using your friends' talents," she said.

Soliven, who plans to get married in February, said she planned to save money by having her rehearsal dinner at Golden Corral.

"It sounds chintzy, but as long as you can enjoy yourself with your family and friends, that's all that matters," Soliven said.

After looking at 10 different venues, Porter opted to hold her wedding at Plantation Country Club in Fort Myers because it was willing to work with her budget.

"I wanted to do it at Grandezza (Country Club in Estero) but that's too expensive," Porter said.

Mike Waite, owner of Waite Photography in Cape Coral, has noticed the shift toward cost-conscious grooms and brides.

"They seem to be more concerned about their finances and a lot of them are shopping around for deals," said Waite, who attended Sunday's bridal show at the Harborside Event Center.

Waite Photography lowered its prices because of the recession. The company's cheapest wedding photo package starts at $899. But the prices are negotiable, according to Beverly Waite.

Wedding retailer For the Bride in Fort Myers has also been impacted.

"Some of the girls will buy dresses right off the rack to take the discount instead of paying full price to get it fitted," said For the Bride owner Wendy Bennett, whose dresses range from $300 to $2,000.

Despite an uptick in frugal couples, Bennett isn't concerned about her industry.

"No matter how you cut it, the bride always has to have a nice dress," said Bennett, whose store opened 17 years ago. "Brides might cut back and serve cupcakes instead of a cake or change to a cheaper venue, but they will always have a nice dress."

Mike Waite, who has been a wedding photographer since 1979, shared the same optimism for the wedding industry.

"People are still going to get married," Waite said. "This is a one-time event and their parents will make sure of that. We know we're in tough times so we'll just try to accommodate them."

Mary Kay is the way!

My friend Joann Frazier is a Mary Kay Consultant. I have had the opportunity to play with her fun products. I even took a horrible before photo and transformed myself into something not-so-scary-anymore! LOL!
I was brighter and looked younger, yes younger!

Here's a link right to her website! www.MaryKay.com/JoannFrazier

Most people I have met stick with the same make up routine day after day. I was playing on Joann's website and saw this awesome page with 10 make up artist looks on it.

It's perfect! It shows you what colors were used and how to produce the same look for yourself. You can even shop from that page to purchase the look for yourself. Print it off if you need it for future reference even.

Another fun thing to do on her page is the virtual makeover. After you have picked a look from the makeup artist looks you can go try the colors virtually on your face! How cool is that?!?

The best thing about Mary Kay is their skin care products! If you have any questions and want to know more please contact Joann at joannfrazier@marykay.com.

She also has a Facebook Page for you to enjoy!

Meet the lovely and talented Amber!

Amber and I met at MAC Cosmetics before I started working there. She was always so nice and sweet to me. I loved coming in and having her do my make up. Now we work together making females of all ages feel more beautiful about themselves. I love having her as my business partner. She is very skilled in what she does and very knowledgeable too because she is an aesthetician. She is also training now to be a nail tech.
I thought I would feature some pictures of Amber's wonderful work! Enjoy ladies!
